What changed at She Speaks, She Rises.
A retreat centered on identity, voice and self-trust. A private check-in at arrival. A second read at checkout. A record of change participants could keep.

The retreat
The work was felt.
The record made it visible.
She Speaks, She Rises was a three-day retreat for women of color, facilitated by Fiorella Amado, Eronica Aljoe and Cristina Costa. Its work centered on identity, voice and self-trust — making room for grounding, cultural recognition, expression and connection.
Wakefully’s role in this case was the paired read and measurement. The retreat experience itself belonged to its facilitators and participants. The check-ins gave the felt experience another form: a structured record participants could return to, and a way for the team to examine movement at checkout.
This is immediate paired evidence, not proof that a particular activity caused change or that it lasted after the retreat.
The measurement window
Two reads. One short window.
- 01 / Starting read
Arrival check-in after the opening circle
The first check-in was after arrival and the opening circle — not a pre-retreat or pre-intervention baseline.
- 02 / Comparison read
Checkout comparison
A second check-in at checkout provided the paired comparison. No later durability read is represented here.
The reported movement
Five domains, measured between arrival and checkout.
These are reported percentage shifts, not percentages of participants. The chart shares a zero-to-50% display scale; the calculation is described in the method notes below.
Text table of reported values
| Domain | Reported shift |
|---|---|
| Insight | +48.5% |
| Relationship | +44% |
| Identity | +40.8% |
| Emotion | +30% |
| Meaning | +23% |
Behavior is part of Wakefully’s wider six-domain framework, but was outside this case’s five-domain paired KPI set. It is not a zero result.
What the record can hold
Change became something they could take with them.
In the account, Identity is expressed through permission to rest before depletion, trust a decision, receive help and take up space. This is editorial context, not an individual transcript or an arithmetic explanation of the score.
A record, not a diagnosis
Some participants saved their results. A personal record could make the experience easier to revisit; for facilitators, a structured cohort read sat beside what they had witnessed.
Saved results do not establish later behavior change or persistence. For a future cohort, the value is a clearer question to ask next — not a claim that every participant changed in the same way.
The participant record
A clearer read, carried forward.

Some participants saved their own results. The figures here are reported cohort aggregates, not any individual participant’s record.
Method notes
How the measurement works.
She Speaks, She Rises ran August 14–16, 2026 in Ellenville, NY. The case account reports a 37% average measured shift across five paired domains, with the first read after the opening circle and the second at checkout.
Movement is measured as relative change between the two reads: (checkout − arrival) ÷ arrival × 100, aggregated across paired cohort means per domain. Only guests who completed both the arrival and checkout reads are included in the movement figures.
No causal effect, clinical validation, experience-matching deployment or post-retreat durability is established by this case. The prospective Wakefully pilot offers Read → Match → Measure; this retreat documents the paired measurement portion only. See also Data & trust.
